Humberside Explorer Scouts invited Scouts & Explorers to join them in as they played the Hull edition of Monopoly on a grand scale. The event was open to teams of 4-5 Explorer Scouts, Scouts or mixed teams with prizes being awarded for taking part and completing the game worth over £600.
After leaving ‘GO’ teams used their score sheet to navigate around the places within the Hull City Centre area. At each location the teams answered questions, completed tasks and took part in challenges to earn points. For example- ‘fit as many people into a phone box as possible and take a photo’.
Teams could also use the day for shopping and/or visiting the local free museums such as the Ferens Art Gallery , Maritime Museum , Streetlife Museum and Wilberforce House.
The game ended with a Disco at Raywell Park and prizes being awarded to the teams with an overnight camp.
Finally the press were involved including the local radio and newspapers. One newspaper cut out is attached to this blog.
